Top Tips for Selling This Winter

Lockbox is on the door, sign is in the yard, and snow is on the ground???  Here are our top 3 tips for selling your home in the Winter months.

1. Keeps the paths clear

If you come in through the garage every day, remember that potential buyers and their agents will be using the front door when they come tour your home.  Keep the paths clear and dry to the main entrance buyers use, as well as any areas outside the house you want them to see.

2. Keep the house bright

With the sun setting before the evening rush, a potential buyer may be touring your home before you've gotten home from work.  To give the best first impression, be sure to double check that all exterior lights are on and working, and place timers on a few lamps in the main areas of your home.  This gives the buyers a warm, inviting impression and prevents them from spending time fumbling in the dark for light switches.

3. Keep the house Show-ready

Serious buyers are out looking in all weather conditions.  Even if you are telecommuting or have a Snow Day, buyers are still on a timeline and out looking for their new  home.   As long as there is no emergency advisory keeping people off the roads, be prepared for buyers and their agents to call and want to tour your home.

As always, if you have any questions about selling your home (in any season!), give us a call!
